Question: Vacation home owners.

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) reported the results of a May 2006 survey of vacation-home owners. In a sample of 416 households that owned vacation homes, 46 of the households were minorities. Prior to 2003, 6% of vacation-home owners were minorities.

a) Do the survey results allow us to conclude that the percentage of vacation-home owners who are minorities is larger than 6%?

b) The NAR sent the survey questionnaire to a nationwide sample of 45,000 households that owned vacation homes. Only 416 of the households responded to the survey. How might this bias the survey results?
