Question: Truck manufacturer Paccar, Inc. has sent lay-off warning notices to more than 300 workers at its Renton and Seattle truck plants. In its latest earning announcement Paccar said, “Higher interest rates and fuel costs along with a glut of low-priced used trucks, have caused the drop in the truck orders.” Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Saturday, October 28, 2000.
