[See Steps] In a study of the relationship between violent pornography and aggression toward women, 18 male volunteers are selected and randomly assigned
Question: In a study of the relationship between violent pornography and aggression toward women, 18 male volunteers are selected and randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group views a violent, sexually explicit film, and the other group sees a nature film. A test to measure aggressive feelings toward women is then administered to all participants. The scores are shown here (high scores = high aggressiveness). Did viewing the film significantly increase aggressive feelings toward women? If you reject the null hypothesis, tell what it means in the context of the problem. Because we can predict the direction of the result – that the violent film will increase aggressiveness – a one-tailed test is appropriate.
