Question: A study was designed to assess the effect of Echinacea extracts on the rates of infection of individuals voluntarily exposed to the common-cold rhinovirus. There were three treatment groups: placebo ("Placebo"), Echinacea from time of exposure ("Time0"), Echinacea from 7 days prior to exposure ("Time7"). The two possible outcomes were to either contract the rhinovirus (get a cold) or to not contract the virus. The data is cross-
