[See Solution] Jefferson State College has received a grant to compare the effectiveness of two innovating teaching methods, audio-tutorial and computer
Question: Jefferson State College has received a grant to compare the effectiveness of two innovating teaching methods, audio-tutorial and computer based, using a third group taught through a traditional lecture-based technique as a control group. All three groups are composed of randomly selected biology students enrolled in BIO187L. At the end of the semester, all students will be given Form B of the Test of Biological Concepts which consists of 250 multiple-choice items covering the general content of the course.
-
Select and justify your choice of a statistical procedure to test the hypothesis that "there
will be no significant differences among the means of the three groups on the test at the end of the course." -
Investigate "post hoc" or multiple comparisons. Determine under what conditions they
have application to the above null hypothesis. - If the assumption of random selection equating the three groups for pre-existing
knowledge of the discipline is not tenable, determine an alternative strategy to be used including the selection of statistical procedure.
