Assignment 4

In an experiment designed to study two new reading and mathematics programs in the fourth grade, subjects in the school were randomly assigned to three treatment conditions, one being the old program and two being experimental programs. Before beginning the experiment, a test was administered to obtain grade-equivalent reading and mathematics levels for the subjects, labeled R1 and M1, respectively, in the table below. At the end of the study, six months later, similar data (R2 and M2) were obtained for each student.
