Question: A researcher was interested in improving student learning. A study was designed to examine whether cooperative learning instructions, competitive learning instructions, or no change in learning instructions from teachers would lead to student improvement in task learning. Each student was exposed to only one of the three teaching styles (cooperative, competitive, or no change). Below are the numbers of students who improved or did not improve under the three teaching styles. Use the appropriate nonparametric test to determine whether the distribution of scores of improvement is contingent on type of learning instructions (a=.01, nondirectional).
