Question: A local school district is attempting to identify the most effective instructional method to use with its learning-disabled students. They have identified two new instructional methods that they would like to compare to their existing format and are asking for your help. A total of nine students participated in this research (three students in each group). Students were administered the reading sub-test of the Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT-A) at the beginning and end of the semester. Using the post-test score as the DV and the pre-test score as the covariate, conduct an analysis of covariance to determine whether differential treatment of learning-disabled children affects reading scores after adjusting for differences in the children’s prior reading ability.
