Question: Mixed BIP/Resource Allocation Problem (20 pts)
M & M Industries manufactures four products. The daily labor and raw materials required are given in the table below.
| Product | Required daily labor (hr/unit) | Required daily raw material (lb/unit) |
| 1 | 2 | 4 |
| 2 | 6 | 4 |
| 3 | 3 | 5 |
| 4 | 4 | 2 |
The unit profits are $25, $30, $27, and $32, respectively. M&M has three sites for locating its plant. The three sites differ primarily in the availability of labor and raw materials, as shown below. It wants to choose only one site. M&M wants to determine the optimal product mix that maximizes total profit with one site chosen.
| Site | Available daily labor (hrs) | Available daily raw materials (lb) |
| 1 | 200 | 200 |
| 2 | 150 | 250 |
| 3 | 240 | 150 |
- Formulate the problem algebraically as a mixed binary integer program, by defining the decision variables, the objective function and the constraints
- Determine the optimal solution using Solver.
[ Note: Formulate and s olve as a single linear program , not three separate linear programs ].
