Question: A fabricant of analgesics is morally obliged to put its products in containers which are resistant to children. But many of their sales are made to older people who could also have problems to open the containers. Two designs are proposed which are different in the containers and they wish to analyze which one would be more convenient to use. They took 40 clients which are older people, they opened both containers and the time to open them was registered in seconds.

  1. Make a t test for the population related to significance level of 0.05 to prove that the design 1 requires less time mean (average) to open. Write all the required steps to make the test of hypothesis.
  2. make the same test using Minitab.
  3. The assumption in which the test is based is fulfilled? Verify using Minitab.
