Question: Another way to see if the scores are normally distributed is to look at percentiles. If a student scores in the n th percentile on a test, they have scored better than n % of the other students that took the test. We have the following data:

| 50 th | 510 |
| 25 th | 430 |
Pick two of the rows in this table—do they correspond with a normal distribution with a mean of 515 and standard deviation 114?
For each one, you can either:
- figure out what the 75 th (or 50 th or 25 th ) percentile should be in the normal distribution, and compare it to the score given in the table; or
- figure out what percentile 590 (or 510 or 430) should be, and compare it to the percentile given in the table.
NOTE: You don’t have to use both methods—just pick one.
