In a study for family caregiving in South Korean, data from caregivers of older adults with dementia in Seoul, South Korea were collected.  The dependent variable is caregiver burden as measured by Korean Burden Inventory (KBI), with the higher scores indicating higher burden.  The independent variables are ADL (total activities of daily living; lower scores indicating more independent activities), MEM (memory and behavioral problems; higher scores indicating more problems) and COG (cognitive impairment; lower scores indicating a greater degree of cognitive impairment).  A subset of 30 subjects is used for this part of the examination.  The variables in the data set are:

KBI: Korean Burden Inventory
ADL: Total activities of daily living
MEM: Memory and behavioral problems
COG: Cognitive Impairment

Create a data set for SPSS that you are going to use.  Verify accuracy by comparing descriptive statistics from your data set to the one provided. Answer these 10 questions:

1. For straight line regression for KBI on MEM, obtain a histogram and P-P plot for studentized residuals.  Comment on normality and outlier.

2. For straight line regression for KBI on MEM, obtain an estimate for the mean KBI for MEM=20

3. For straight line regression for KBI on MEM, obtain a 95% prediction interval for MEM=20

4. Obtain a 95% CI for the population correlation coefficient between KBI and MEM

5. Obtain estimated regression equation for regressing KBI on ADL, MEM and COG.

6. Obtain type III SS's for regressing KBI on ADL, MEM and COG.

7. Perform a Partial F test for the slope parameter for MEM being zero in the regression KBI on ADL, MEM and COG.  Report F value and p value.  State your conclusion based on the 0.05 level.

8. Compute the F value for the multiple partial F test for neither ADL nore COG having effect on KBI in linear regression model KBI on ADL, MEM and COG.

9. Compute multiple partial correlation coefficient between KBI and (ADL and COG) controlling MEM.

10.  Obtain partial correlation coefficient between KBI and MEM, controlling ADL and COG.
