Statistics Project

Can you use Statistics to manipulate numbers a nd then stories? In the hypothetical situation where you overcome the "trauma" induced by grade-school arithmetic, can you create tables of numbers or graphs to show a different story from reality ? If you want to convince someone about your story, which is not supported by numbers or words, can you draw a picture to defend your a rgument ? You do not want to falsify anything; you only want to give a different impression or perspective.

Take at least one variable and create some graphs or charts. How can you convincingly distort reality by reporting a seemingly correct outcome, when in fact it is not? Think hard and come up with some interesting stories. Also, do not forget to comment on someone else's report. Include the graph or chart in your initial report within the discussion board's content area (do not attach any files). Let your imagination fly, be creative and do your best. Also, as a hint, you should know that your teacher has uploaded a wonderful book in PDF format somewhere in the course Blackboard which talks about this very concept. If you find it and read it, you'll know how to ace this assignment.

Ensure that you use charts to display how the new story looks like compared to the old chart/story. Therefore, you should have at least 2 graphs. Try to minimize the explanation of the story in words - think of it as the audience is illiterate and can read only graphs, not words. Graphs should be able to speak for themselves. Also, do tell the audience the trick you did to create the new distorted story.
