Use descriptive statistics tools including tables, graphs and numerical measures (with SPSS) to write a report describing and summarizing the data provided.
You might consider the state of each of the variables (income, literacy and enrolment) for both males and females in 2005 . After taking a global perspective you might investigate the state of these variables for the different regions (in 2005), as provided by the World Bank.
Also you might consider how these variables have changed from 2000 to 2005 . Again, after taking this global view you might investigate how these variables have changed (from 2000 to 2005) for the different regions.
There is no correct answer and no single correct plan or method. Maybe you might prefer to consider the above, but by taking each of the variables (literacy, enrolment and income) separately to begin with, then drawing them together towards the end. At some stage you might consider the possibility of a relationship between two variables.
SPSS is merely a tool to assist you. Investigate the tables, graphs and numerical measures that you have developed from SPSS and report on the 'current' (2005) state of the world. Also report on how things have changed recently (from 2000 to 2005). When making comparisons, search for both similarities and differences.
Write a report summarizing and interpreting what you have discovered. Do not guess what might be the case, but report what the data tells you. Your report should be a maximum of 10 pages long. These 10 pages (or less) should have section headings and might include (if necessary) an appendix at the back. Your report should include a signed assignment cover sheet.
