Using the data file provided:

You hypothesize that solitary binge drinkers have a greater risk for suicide than social binge drinkers. To test this hypothesis conduct a multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) to compare social and solitary binge drinkers on suicide risk as defined by two dependent variables: severity of suicidal ideation and hopelessness. Include age and gender to control for their possible effects on suicide risk.

Provide a write-up for the analysis along with the appropriate follow-up tests to understand the nature of your omnibus result. Provide your (unadjusted/raw score) means and SD s (obtained from descriptives), as well as your adjusted means and their 95% CI (obtained from marginal means) on your DVs by group in the table below.

In your write up, consider variance accounted for in your DV (the composite and individual DVs). Do the results suggest an overlap in variance based on η 2 ?
