These data are presented in the Stat_Grades.sav SPSS data set. An explanation of the data set is provided in Projects section of Doc Sharing. You will need to have SPSS loaded to download this data file.
1. Using the appropriate graphical or numerical descriptors, describe the students in the class? Your description should include, at a minimum, gender, ethnicity, year in school, and previous GPA. Be sure to include an explanation of why you selected the method used to describe the students.
2. Considering the different assessments used in the class, describe the performance of students in the class?
3. Comparing the five different quizzes, which quiz had the best overall performance from the class and why?
You must develop the appropriate null and alternative hypothesis; select the appropriate statistical procedure to use to test those hypotheses; interpret the results from your analyses and provide an explanation of those results. Your explanation must be in the language of the research question. Be sure to include all of these in your submitted project.
Research Question 4:
Is there a difference in Final Examination points between the different ethnicities of students in the course? If there are 5 or fewer students in any group that group should be deleted from the analysis.

Is there a difference in total course points between the different sections of the course and whether the students are in the lower or upper division?

Research Question 6:
The instructor provided additional opportunities for students to learn the material in the course by holding review sessions. Did attending the review sessions make any difference in student's final performance in the course? Based on your analysis, what would you tell the instructor?
Research Question 7:
Based on previous classes, the instructor has determined that an acceptable mean value for a successful class is 85%. Does this class differ significantly from what the instructor considers to be the mean for a successful class?

Is there a difference in student performance between quiz 1 and quiz 3?
9. What is the relationship between a student's short term IQ score, previous gpa and the student's final examination grade? What is the predicted final examination score for a student who has an IQ score of 120 and had a 3.35 gpa?
10. Is there a relationship between a student's previous grade point average and the student's total points in the statistics class? Create the scatter plot for these data. If there is a relationship, what is the predicted final grade (total points) for a student who enters the class with a gpa of 3.5?
11. Which of the quizzes has the largest relationship with the student's performance on the final examination? can that quiz be used to predict final examination scores? If so what would be the predicted final examination score if that quiz score was 6? If the relationship cannot be used for prediction explain why?
