Question: A group of researchers wanted to test the hypothesis that someone might be able to read another’s mind. In order to test this, a scientific, sampling plan was developed that includes a person in one room who is asked to “read the color that is on the mind of an individual in another room. This person has made a choice from a well shuffled deck of fifty (yellow or green) cards. It is unknown to the person “reading minds” how many yellow or green cards are in the deck. If the person identifies 32 of the 50 cards correctly, can we conclude that this person can read minds, or are the choices just guesses simply due to chance? Test at the following levels of significance, interpret your analysis, and draw your conclusions.

a) 0.05 and

b) 0.01 level of significance.
