Question: You are hired by an inner-city organization to research the relationship between perceived parental involvement and children’s quality of life. You decide to use two validated measures: Parental Involvement Questionnaire (PIQ) (higher scores=higher amount of perceived involvement, range 0-30) and the Pediatric Quality of Life Questionnaire (PQLQ (higher scores=higher quality of life, range 0-100). You administer the PIQ and the PQIQ to a class of sixth graders in an inner city middle school. The raw scores are reported below. Use a Spearman’s r as your test statistic. Use the 6 steps of hypothesis testing to set up and determine the results of this study.
| Participant ID | PIQ Score (0-30) | QIQ Score (0-100) |
24 | 80
18 | 66
27 | 92
6 | 53
22 | 72
20 | 49
23 | 90
10 | 63
