Question: As a consultant for XYZ Manufacturing Company, you conducted an employee survey. A couple of the variables within your survey consisted of employee perceptions of their supervisor’s directive leadership style, and employee job satisfaction. You conducted a correlation between the leadership styles and job satisfaction and found that overall, there was little or no correlation. However, when testing for the moderator factor of job level you discovered that there was a positive correlation between directive leadership style and employee job satisfaction among the organization’s engineers but little or no correlation among the production employees.
