Question: # 4) Regression is a highly useful statistical tool. However, it is not appropriate in every situation. The purpose of this conference is to create business and management research scenarios to which regression might appropriately be applied.

To prepare for this conference, first complete the reading assignments, including the lecture notes. Then, create a research example from your own field, or some other field in which you have an interest (or perhaps from your Individual Research Paper!).

Share your research example with the rest of the class, by clicking "respond," below.

Your example should:

(a) Briefly describe a business problem

(b) Present a research hypothesis and null hypothesis appropriate for regression

(c) Briefly explain how you would use regression to test the hypothesis above (that is, what would such a statistical analysis tell you?) Note: no calculations or data are required, but you are welcome to provide them if you wish.

Remember: Each member of the class is invited to provide commentary and constructive criticism. The idea is to help everyone think clearly about the new statistical routine we studied this week.
