Question: Does red wine protect moderate drinkers from heart diseases better than other alcoholic beverage? The subjects were healthy men aged 35 to 65 and divided in two groups. The health condition was measured in a scale from 1 to 5 (one =no complain of heart problem and 5 = serious complain) during 5 years. The first group includes 82 men they were randomly assigned to drink red wine. The average health condition for the first group was recorded as 1.5 with a standard deviation of 0.5. The other group includes 102 men who were assigned to drink white wine. The health condition for the second group was recorded as 1.8 with a standard deviation of 0.75.
