Question: It has long been stated that the mean temperatures of humans is 98.6^oF. Two researches however, claim that the mean is not 98.6^oF. To test this, they take the temperatures of healthy adults 1-4 times daily, obtaining 40 measurements with a sample mean of 98.3^oF and a sample standard deviation of 0.7^oF. Test the researchers’ claim at \(\alpha =0.01\). Show all steps (by hand) including the hypotheses to receive full credit. After you have stated your conclusion, indicate which type of error could have been made and if possible, state the probability of making that error.
