Question: This question uses the dataset CARDIAC that you have used in Homework #3 and #5. The data and accompanying documentation file are available on Carmen. For these problems you must use Stata for calculations.
- (4 pts) Calculate what percent of patients with a history of hypertension and what percent of patients without a history of hypertension experienced a cardiac event during the study by creating a cross-tabulation of the variables event and hxofHT. You will have to consult the documentation for the data set to know what the values for these variables mean.
- (6 pts) Perform the appropriate test to assess if these proportions are significantly different in the population. You do not have to write out all steps of the hypothesis test, but do state the p-value and a one-sentence conclusion (along with your Stata output).
