Question: Hannah’s Inheritance

Part 1 :  Sally, Kelly, and Hannah inherited property from their father.  Sally, who married the neighbor to the east, is given a piece of land adjacent to her husband’s property.  The land is 5 hectometers wide and the length matches that of her husband’s property.  Kelly who has married the neighbor to the south is given property that is 4 hectometers wide and its length is the common boundary of her spouse’s property.  Hannah is to have a square piece that is left after her sister’s property is taken out.  Hannah wants to find out the dimensions of her land.  She knows that her father’s land totaled 380 square hectometers.  Use the diagram below to find the dimensions of Hannah’s land (measurements are not to scale).
