Question: An experiment has been done to investigate the effect of alcohol on the reaction time of adult males. Reaction time was measured in a simulated driver’s seat from the moment a picture of a stop sign appeared until the subject applied force to a brake. Forty subjects were selected and randomly assigned to one of four treatment groups, group 1, placebo; group 2, 0.5 ounce of alcohol; group 3, 1.0 ounce; group 4, 2.0 ounces. Testing was conducted 30 minutes after alcohol ingestion. Here are the data:

Reaction time in seconds

0.0 oz 0.5 oz 1.0 oz 2.0 oz

0.8 1.1 1.5 2.0
1.2 1.5 1.3 1.8
0.7 0.9 1.2 1.7
0.9 1.6 1.4 1.5
1.1 1.4 1.6 1.8
1.5 1.3 0.9 1.7
0.6 1.4 1.1 1.6
0.8 0.9 1.8 1.7
1.0 1.1 1.5 1.5
1.1 1.2 1.4 2.1

Determine whether there were group differences, and if there were, use the LSD and HSD tests to make all pair wise comparisons.
