SPSS Assignment
Instructions:
For this assignment you will apply what you have learned in this class thus far about the application of statistical procedures with SPSS to answer questions about research data. This is your opportunity to show me that you have a strong basic grasp of the assumptions of parametric statistics, data screening, presentation of data wit graphs, the ability to choose the appropriate statistical procedure to analyze the data, and the ability to interpret and write up the results.
Data Set:
A double-blind experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of the stimulant caffeine on performance on a simple physical task. Male and female college students were trained in finger tapping. They were then randomized into three groups of ten. Each group received a different dose of caffeine. Two hours after treatment, each participant was required to do finger tapping. The number of taps per minute was recorded.
Gender
| Male | Male | Male | Male | Male | Female | Female | Female | Female | Female | |

| 0 mg | 242 | 245 | 244 | 248 | 247 | 248 | 242 | 244 | 246 | 242 |

You are to
- Screen the data to determine if assumptions are met and check for outliers. If you find problems with assumptions correct for them with the appropriate data transformation procedure.
- Complete descriptive statistics with appropriate graphs
- Choose the appropriate parametric or non-parametric analysis of the data and run the analysis. This should of course include any contrasts or post-hoc analyses that need to be conducted.
