Please consult the Baby Birth Weight data provided on Blackboard. (1) Conduct a full hypothesis test, but answer only the questions listed in the answer form. (2) Then, attach a clear printout of EXCEL’s (short-hand) output (imported to a Word document). Submit only the answer sheet and the (one-page) output document.
A researcher has noticed that the correlation between the mother’s age and the baby’s weight tends to be positive (0.090 in our data set). The researcher hypothesizes that an older mother gives birth to a heavier baby than a younger mother does. In the corresponding data set on BlackBoard labeled Top&BottomAgeQuartiles the column labeled Top 25% lists the birth weights of the babies born to mothers in the 4 th (oldest) Quartile, and the column labeled Bottom 25% the birth weights of babies born to mothers in the 1 st (youngest) Quartile. Please test the researcher’s hypothesis based this data set. Just in case you are curious, the mothers’ ages can be summarized as follows:

Please consult the Fox Chapel Real Estate data provided on Blackboard. Build two models as summarized below:
In Model 1 , use all independent variables except Exterior (Dummy Variable) . Run the multiple regression model relating Sold Price (Y) to the seven independent variables. In Model 2 , run the same basic model but include only the homes in the middle half with respect to price (leaving out homes in the first –the cheapest– and the fourth –the most expensive–quartiles. I include my pruned home set in the file labeled Top&BottomAgeQuartiles so that we do not need to worry about discrepancies on that front. Run the two models in EXCEL, but answer only the questions listed in the two answer forms. (2) Then, attach a clear printout of EXCEL’s (short-hand) outputs (imported to a Word document). Submit only the answer sheet and the output document.

Problem: Case 3 : This Case is worth 5 points.
An apple juice manufacturer has developed a new product –a liquid concentrate that, when mixed with water, produces 1 liter of apple juice. The product has several attractive features. First, it is more convenient than canned apple juice, which is the way apple juice is currently sold. Second, because apple juice that is sold in cans is actually made from concentrate, the quality of the new product is at least as high as the canned apple juice. The marketing manager has to decide how to market the new product. S/he can create advertising that emphasizes convenience, quality, or price. S/he also needs to decide which advertising medium –television or newspaper– to utilize. Therefore, s/he conducts an experiment for ten weeks each in six test cities that are of equal size and demographic composition. The number of packages that were sold in these six cities is listed below. Please run the 2-Way ANOVA in EXCEL , but (1) a nswer only the questions listed in the answer form. (2) Then, attach a clear printout of EXCEL’s (short-hand) output (imported to a Word document). Submit only the answer sheet and the output document. The below data can be copied. Also, remember that to run a 2-Way ANOVA in EXCEL you need to paint over the title row and title column along with the data when providing the model the input information.
