Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) Do factor analysis of the 30 items in the IPA scale: ipal to ipa30

  1. Check the assumption of factor analysis associated with correlation matrix: Bartlett test of sphericity and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) measure
  2. Run exploratory factor analysis. Use "principal components extraction (PCA)" with Varimax rotation.
  3. Interpret PASW output and write up your findings. Your report includes:
    The results of assumption check
    Eigenvalues before and after rotation, % of variances
    Scree plot
    Final factor solution---name of each factor, list of items loaded in each factor. Also include description of how you handle secondary loadings.
