Statistical Analysis

Participants were asked to rate three pictures of sport coaches to determine which is perceived as most competent. Competence has four sub factors: motivational competence (MC), game strategy competence (GSC), technique efficacy (TE) and character building competence (CBC).

The response variable is Rating Score , and there are two within-subjects factors, which are Competence and Picture . The purpose of the analysis is to test the following hypotheses:

• Hypothesis 1: This hypothesis state s that the coach in P ic 3 will be perceived as most competent in all four subscales.
• Hypothesis 2 : This hypothesis state s that the coach in P ic 2 will be perceived as least competent in all four subscales.
