Statement A researcher would like to know if there is a difference in the average aggressiveness levels

Problem Statement

A researcher would like to know if there is a difference in the average aggressiveness levels of male children who have experienced an aggressive cartoon treatment versus children who have experienced an aggressive female model treatment when a pretreatment aggressiveness assessment is considered. The question to answer is to whether these two models produced different amounts of aggressive behavior when the researcher does and does not control for individual differences in baseline aggressiveness.

Null Hypothesis

H 0 = There is no difference in the level of aggressiveness between the two treatments, when controlling for baseline aggressiveness

Research Hypothesis

H 1 = There is significant difference in the level of aggressiveness between the two treatments, when controlling for baseline aggressiveness

Independent Variable

The independent variable is the type of aggressiveness model the male children were exposed to (1 = Animal Cartoon, 2 = Female Model)

Covariate

The covariate is the pre-test measure on the number of aggressive behaviors emitted by each child before exposure to one of the treatment groups
