The Library project

The KMC command has decided that extra funding is available for either the Ramstein or the Vogelweh library. The library with the oldest collection will get the funds. In case there is no significant difference in the age of the collections the extra funds will be equally divided between the two libraries.

You have been put in charge of recommending which of the two libraries is getting the funding or that the additional funds will be equally split between them. First of course you have to take samples from both library collections.

The samples you have taken are based on the most recent year of copyright given in the books. To save you a lot of work you may use the following table as a starting point for your work and may assume that the ages of the books follow a normal distribution for both collections. Assume that you are now living in the year 2006.
