Excel Mini Project #2

The objective of this paper is to use Excel random sampling facilities to illustrate the Central Limit Theorem for sampling distributions when manipulating the sample size. Theory indicates that as we analyze the sampling distribution of the sample means, it becomes more similar to a normal distribution when the sample sizes increases (if the original distribution is not normal. When the original distribution is normal, the sampling distribution of sample means is exactly normal).

For the purposes of this analysis, Dataset B was used.

Step 1 : Repeat Sampling

In this section, we analyze the results of repeated sampling for different sample sizes. Fifty samples were collected for sample sizes n = 2, n = 5 and n = 100, and then the mean of samples means, the standard error and a graphical depiction of the distribution (histogram) were obtained.
