Drivers of Energy Consumption

The purpose of this paper is to construct of a quantitative model to estimate energy consumption, measured in BTU/SQFT/DD. Various predictors are used as possible drivers of the variation in energy consumption, based on a dataset containing 480 valid cases.

A multiple regression analysis will be used to attempt to construct a multiple regression model, with the purpose of obtained a quantitative estimate of energy consumption.

Methods

A dataset consisting of 480 cases will be used for the analysis. The main statistical tool used is multiple regression analysis, together with the stepwise regression in case that some variables do not contribute significantly to the model and need to be removed. The variables the will be included as possible predictors are:
