Cracking Online Dating
The purpose of this paper is to somewhat emulate the process taken by Amy Webb to crack the code of online dating and to use data analysis to find some kind of algorithm or model that can help to find a romantic match.
As it was found out by Amy, the process has two sides: one of them has do to with how to evaluate dating candidates based on certain set of characteristics (variables), and the other side has to do how does she need to present herself in order to maximize her chances of being found attractive by the potential partners that she would find attractive.
In the context of this paper, only the first side of the problem, that of candidate evaluation, will be addressed using hypothetical data and statistical analysis tools (For the second side of the problem, Amy discover that certain type of profile photo, plus short profile description with certain keywords can increase her chances for her profile to be liked by potential dating matches).
