The objective of this study is to analyze the academic paper entitled Psychological Characteristics and the Effectiveness of Patient-Controlled Analgesia , by Thomas et al. The purpose of the analysis is to determine if the level of state and trait anxiety, neuroticism, extroversion and coping style are useful at predicting (IV’s) the effectiveness of patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) for patients undergoing total abdominal hysterectomy (DV), by using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis.
