Two Research Questions from the World Dataset

Introduction

The World.sav dataset is a data file containing demographic, economic and macroeconomic variables for a collection of 191 countries. The dataset contains a total of 69 variables and provides an excellent secondary source of data to find correlations between several variables of interest. Granted, no real causal links could be established from this kind of non-random dataset (Creswell, 2014), but census datasets like this one can play a fundamental role at policy making.

Various research articles have addressed the link between economic growth and religion and culture in general (Barro and McCleary, 2003). Also, the point of the need to social equality in order to reach sustained economic growth has been made by several authors (Adelman and Morris, 1973)
