SPSS Skills Assignment 3
o Applying the skills you have learned from the Field text, please do ALL of the following (NOTE: The Field text provides step-by-step instructions and explanations for most, if not all, of the following; Read this text CLOSELY as you complete each task).
o Once you have run each analysis, you must properly report the findings in a Word document AND cut/paste the output tables in the same Word document to earn credit for this assignment. If you only report the results for each analysis OR only submit the output tables, you will not receive credit for the assignment -- You must be able to produce the correct output tables AND report the findings to illustrate your understanding of the results.
A: Using the data set "Viagra.sav", attached to the instructions section for this assignment, run the following analyses:
• One-Way ANOVA with any possible post hoc tests that may be necessary and report the results as specified in the Field text (see Ch. 10).
B: Using the data set, "ViagraCovariate.sav" attached to the instructions section for this assignment, run the following analyses:
• Conduct an ANCOVA (see Field Ch. 11), conduct any additional procedures as indicated and report the results as specified in the Field text.
C: Using the data sets "Cats.sav" and "CatsWeight.sav" attached to the instructions section for this assignment, run the following analyses:
• Run chi-square tests following the instructions as specified in the Field text on pages 692-700 and report the results as specified in the text.
For Tasks D & E, scroll down to review the output provided.
o Write out a step-by-step explanation of how you WOULD run these analyses (explain the exact buttons you would click, the exact analyses you would click and the variables you would choose, etc.). Be as detailed and specific as possible.
o Interpret the output below and report the results (as illustrated by Field in his textbook).
D: The analysis for this part corresponds to a Repeated-Measures ANOVA . The steps to be followed in SPSS are:
Analyze >> General Linear Model >> Repeated Measures.
Once we are in the Repeated Measures window, we write "factor1" in the box that says "Within-Subjec Factor Name", and we write "4" in the box that says "Number of Levels". Then we click on "Add", and then we click on "Define". In the box that appears after clicking on "Define" we select all 4 variables (we press "Crtl" on the keyboard and press the arrow down on the keyboard), and we click on the arrow from the SPSS window to pass the variables to the box that says "Within-subjects Variables (factor1)". We click on "Options" and we tick all the option from the section called "Display". Also, from the window entitled "Factor(s) and Factor Interactions" we pass "(OVERALL)" and "factor1" to the window on the right hand side (entitled "Display Means for"). Then click on "Continue". Then we click on "Ok".
Deliverable: Word Document
