Regression M odel
The For Sure Appraisal Company has been hired by the federal government to make a large number of appraisals in your area. Because of the large number of houses involved and the deadline to complete the job, the traditional method of doing appraisals is not feasible. Therefore, you are interested in creating a regression model for predicting the appraised values of properties.
You have been provided with a data set of 364 properties that have been appraised in the past two years from the area.
There is one dependent variable and 19 independent variables in the file. The variables are defined in the table. Also in the table are the scores for the first subject in the file, Clark Kent. The large number of independent variables makes it necessary for you to conduct an analysis to build a regression model consisting of a subset of these variables.
Submit a written report of the results of your analysis (two typed pages, double spaced) along with appropriate computer runs/tables. In addition, on a separate page type a log of the procedures and investigations you did while conducting the analysis.
Model Building Procedure
- Initial Run
- Check outliers and influence and make adjustments
- Check assumptions and make adjustments
- Screen variables
- Apply advanced model building
- Recheck assumptions
- Choose the final model
