"A two-tailed test was used and significance was set at the five percent level . The analyses revealed the following significant correlations: locus of control and anomy, r (20) = .453, p = .045; anomy and self-monitoring, r (20) = -.534, p = .015; anomy and social desirability, r (20) = -.647, p = .002; self-monitoring and social desirability, r (20) = .469, p = .037. In addition, the correlation between locus of control and self-monitoring approached significance, r (20) = -.389, p = .09. These findings indicate that as the scores on anomy increased, the scores on self-monitoring and social desirability decreased. The relationship was also negative correlation between locus of control and self-monitoring, that is, as external locus of control increased self-monitoring decreased. The remaining significant correlation indicated that as the scores on self-monitoring increased, the scores on social desirability also increased. The remaining correlations did not approach significance."
