Factors Driving the Accuracy of Reading Expressions

The objective of this paper is to analyze what factors may have a significant effect on the level of accuracy of reading expressions (anger, contempt, disgust, fear, happiness and sadness). For this purpose a dataset with 32 variables and 48 cases containing information obtained from some questionnaires is used for making use of statistical analyses.

There are three groups of research hypotheses that will be approached in this paper. The first question is whether any of the profile variables (Empathy, Personality, Psychopathy) acts as a predictor of skill in reading expressions. The second question whether training improves accuracy in reading expression and whether training has an impact on the empathy profile of individuals. Finally, the question to whether the single position descriptors provided in the dataset are good predictors of accuracy of reading expressions
