Correlation and Regression Analysis for Truancy
Introduction
The objective of this paper is to provide an analysis of factors that affect the variable Truancy Rate. The variables to be included in the analysis, aside from truancy rate are expulsion for violence and/or drugs . Also two simple regression models will be estimated, to assess the effect of suspension total and suspension for violence for violence and/or drugs.
Correlation Analysis
The following correlation results are obtained with the aid of SPSS, using the provided dataset:
The correlation between truancy rate and expulsion for violence and/or drugs is r = 0.198 , and the significance level is p = 0.120 > 0.05 , which means that truancy rate and expulsion for violence and/or drugs are NOT significantly correlated.
