1.) Conduct a principal components analysis with Varimax rotation to

determine the component structure. On the basis of the scree plot, and the reported factor structure of the scale, you should determine the number of components. You should then force a solution with that number.

Note: Do not remove any variables with low communalities (<.30), because you are evaluating an existing scale rather than developing one yourself. However, any issues that arise should be examined in the Discussion section.

2.) Conduct a reliability analysis and ascertain Cronbach’s alpha for each of the
subscales as they are identified by Martin et al., (2003).
3.) Write up the results of the principal components analysis, and the reliability
analyses in the Results section of your report.
