Unit 6: Repeated-Measures ANOVA Howell adapted data originally collected by Nolen-Hoeksema and Morrow

Unit 6: Repeated-Measures ANOVA

Howell adapted data originally collected by Nolen-Hoeksema and Morrow (1991) from research directed at measuring depressive symptoms of selected college age students in California who experienced the Loma Prieta earthquake.

The students were assessed on five occasions, starting two weeks prior to the earthquake and continuing every three weeks until five repeated measures had been collected.

It will be assumed that higher scores on the measure of depression indicate greater depression.

In the previous assignments, you completed the Short Research Report Form. For this assignment and the assignments in the next two units, you will write a full research report, following APA style, and submit this report as your assignment.

Your grade will be based on the following:

  1. The accuracy and completeness of your analysis and output.
  2. The accuracy and completeness of your interpretation.
  3. How well you communicate the study and the results of the analysis in your report.

Keep in mind that the best research reports are accurate and succinct and flow well from beginning to end. Think of the report as a story that should be told completely but without extra fluff or filler. Refer to charts and graphs and include them in your report as appropriate.

Your report should look very similar to an abbreviated empirical article you would find in a professional journal. Submit your paper with your integrated output as a single file in the assignment area.

You do not need to submit a separate output file since you will be integrating your output into the report. It may be helpful to initially use the Short Research Report Form to organize the report but you will not submit the form in the assignment area, only your full report.
