"Why some students are not wiling to tell adults about a possibly violent action in their school"

  1. What is the research problem?
    The main of the paper was to assess the factors that affect the willingness of students to tell adults about possible violent situations in their schools. There were two research questions: a) Will students tell an adult about a potential violent attack, b) what predicts student willingness to tell an adult about a potential violent attack?
  2. What statistical tests were used to analyze the data?
    Most of the variables involved in this study are categorical, and Chi-Square is the appropriate test for assess the significance of association between categorical variables. On the other hand, some composite scores are constructed and for those variables ANOVA is used for assessing the difference in the mean scores for different groups (Age, Grade, etc).
  3. Describe the results of the statistical analysis of the data (statistical significance and its implications).

Several Chi-Square tests are performed and some ANOVA as well. Some of the results are summarized in the following groups:
