Health Data Analyses Paper

The objectives of this project are to develop confidence and competencies related to:

  1. Manipulating large datasets
  2. Formulating researchable questions & hypotheses.
  3. Selecting appropriate statistical tests, performing analyses, and interpreting output.
  4. Communicating findings in a clear, concise, and organized manner.

Project Guidelines :

  1. Develop two researchable questions that can be explored using the assigned dataset.
  2. Conducting a secondary analysis of the data, investigate the question using the appropriate inferential statistical techniques. Describe the quantitative methods that were used.
  3. Describe the results using APA format. Create tables and/or graphs as appropriate.

Introduction : (15 points)

  1. Introduce the researchable questions that were developed.
  2. Briefly describe the rationale for the questions.

Sample / Methods ( 40 points )

  1. Describe the sample in terms of gender, race, and age distribution.
  2. Based on the level of measurement, describe the key study variables in terms of distribution and central tendency.
  3. Describe the statistical methods/tests used to investigate question/test hypothesis. Include data any transformations, re-coding, etc. performed by student.

Results (45 points)

  1. Present the results using APA format. ( 2 5 points )
  2. Must include relevant tables and charts you develop to assist in clarifying the findings.
