Assignment 1: Chapter 2

The data in Table 2.11 (on page 33) are given in the data set HOSPITAL.DAT with documentation. I have posted the data set on e-learning. Go to CONTENT, and you will see the EXCEL data sets listed.

The following problems must be submitted to the correct drop box by the set deadline.

• Use SAS to analyze the entire data set (n=25) to address problems 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3. The answers to these problems are given in the text.
• Use a calculator for hand calculations to analyze the data for patients 15 through 25 only to address problems 2.1 through 2.7. Here, n=11.
• Use SAS to analyze the data in Table 2.14. Address problems 2.19 through 2.22.
• Consider the data on activated protein C (APC) in Table 2.17. Address problems 2.33 and 2.34. Use a calculator to do all calculations.

You are encouraged to solve and discuss these two problems findings. Do problems 2.8 through 2.11. The grouped data in Table 2.12 are analyzed differently from "ungrouped data".
