More About The Harmonic Mean Calculator

First of all, the harmonic mean is a type of a less commonly used measure of central tendency. In terms of its calculation, it is essentially the reciprocal of the average of the reciprocal values in the sample. In other words, consider the given sample data \(\{x_1, x_2, …, x_n\}\). The harmonic mean is computed using the following formula

\[H = \frac{n}{\frac{1}{x_1}+\frac{1}{x_2} + … + \frac{1}{x_n} }\]

In general, for the sample \(\{x_1, x_2, …, x_n\}\), the arithmetic mean is larger than the harmonic mean.
